After some HSC students were unintentionally granted early access to their results, the New South Wales Education Standards Authority launched an investigation.
Because of the error, some students were able to view their preliminary HSC results on the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) website this morning, five days before they were supposed to be made public.

After the problem surfaced, student registrations were terminated within hours of becoming live.
Although the number of students affected has not yet been disclosed, education minister Ms. Mitchell said she believed it to be “a small number.”
Some students had access to the preliminary results on Saturday morning after they were announced on Thursday morning.

A NESA representative told 9News that students could access a preliminary batch of HSC results “for a brief amount of time.”
