Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is an English actress, model, and campaigner who was born on April 15, 1990. She has won many awards, including a Young Artist Award and three MTV Movie Awards.

She is highly known for her appearances in both blockbusters and indie movies as well as for her efforts on behalf of women's rights.

Forbes and Vanity Fair have listed Watson as one of the highest-paid actresses in the world, and Time magazine named her one of the 100 most important persons in the world in 2015.

Watson studied at the Dragon School and had acting instruction at the Stagecoach Theatre Arts Center in Oxford. 

In addition, Watson provided the voice for The Tale of Despereaux (2008) and starred in the Ballet Shoes television adaptation from 2007.

After the last Harry Potter film, she took on a supporting part in My Week with Marilyn (2011), before starring as Sam, a flirty, free-spirited student in The Perks of Being a Wallflower

Her roles as Alexis Neiers in Sofia Coppola's The Bling Ring (2013) and the adopted daughter of the title character in Darren Aronofsky's historical epic Noah (2014) brought her more praise.

Watson was recognized by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts in the same year, taking home the title of British Artist of the Year.

In addition, she played Meg March in Greta Gerwig's coming-of-age drama Little Women (2019) and Belle in the live-action musical love fantasy Beauty and the Beast (2017).

Watson spent her time working on movies and furthering her studies from 2011 to 2014, earning a bachelor's degree in English literature from Brown University in May 2014. 

She was chosen as a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador that year and assisted at the beginning of the UN Women program HeForShe, which promotes gender equality.

She was a founder member of Time's Up UK when it was established in 2018. In 2019, Watson was chosen to serve on a G7 advisory panel on women's rights, where she advises leaders on foreign policy.
